Mother’s Day is less than 2 weeks away. Have you thought about what gifts your Mom would like? As a Mom, I know how hard it is to shop for me and for my Mom. My family gave up many years ago because I never really liked what they chose for me (a wool scarf that makes me itch all over, I’m thinking of you!). When Uncommon Goods invited me to shop on their website for a Mother’s Day gift, I was super excited. I have been a fan of Uncommon Goods for more than 10 years. It is the perfect place to find a unique gift for everyone in your life. Uncommon goods has all the gems, all the really special things that the rest of the online stores do not have. When I am stumped on what gift to buy, I always turn to Uncommon Goods first.
Uncommon Goods opened in 1999 in Brooklyn, New York. It is a privately owned retailer that specializes in handcrafted gifts, unique jewelry, and designer decor that is created in harmony with the environment. Their mission is to provide a platform for artists and designers, and more than half of what they sell is made by hand! More than 30% of what they sell is created from recycled materials.
One of the coolest reasons why you should shop at Uncommon Goods is the Better to Give program. In 2004 Uncommon Goods began donating $1 from every single order that was placed. When you place your order you can decide which non-profit charity your purchase will benefit. In the past 12 years, Uncommon Goods has donated over $1 million dollars to charities around the world!
Today I am sharing 3 Mother’s Day Gifts that I personally chose and I have been enjoying very much. The first item is the Deep Sea Sand Art by Klaus Bosch found here. When I was young I had a toy similar to this one. I would look at it for hours every day. Watching the swirling sand was always very calming to me. This deep sea sand art is just as calming as I remember it. You simply turn the round disc and watch the sand and water cascade. My children are enjoying it now, just as much as I did. If the person you need to buy a gift for needs some calming influences, this just might be the perfect gift.
The second item that I chose was this gorgeous blue healing stone mug. This mug is very reasonably priced and comes in 4 colors, each with a different healing stone. You can see all 4 of the mugs on this page. The healing stone mug is hand thrown and includes a beautiful stone right where your thumb rests. I just love drinking out of this mug. I feel calmer when I am holding it and each mug is one of a kind. I think every Mom would love this mug. It is one of those, “you can’t go wrong choosing this” gifts. Choose your Mom’s favorite color or stone.
My final gift is pictured above and is appropriately named, Mom’s Little Vase. My daughter loves to go on walks with the dog and find little flowers along the way. She is so proud to pick a flower for me and present it, while all I am thinking is, “I hope it stays alive for a few minutes”. This vase is perfect for all the little flowers your child picks for you. My daughter knows how much I love lilacs so she brought me this bunch of lilacs for my little vase. This vase is a mixture of so many beautiful colors and every lilac, dandelion or daffodil looks just perfect inside it. Mom’s Little Vase can be seen here.
