Teens are sometimes difficult to buy gifts for. I have four sons who are in the teen range 19,17,15 and almost 13. Buying gifts for these 4 guys is not so easy. These 4 gift ideas have passed their intense testing and have been given the thumbs up. I hope this gift guide for teens includes gifts that you might not have thought of. This is my second gift guide in the series, please come back soon for many more.
Teen gift guide
Nintendo 3DS XL: We have two 3DS and my older two boys have been playing on them for years. Sure, they love to play on the XBOX One and also on the PC, but there is something they love about playing games on the 3DS for hours. Their latest obsession is the Pokemon Sun and Moon games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Steelbook Dual Pack – Nintendo 3DS (Amazon Exclusive). One son plays moon and the other plays sun. They both beat the game a while ago but they are still trading Pokemon and trying to beat each other in one v. one battles. It is so cute to watch these big guys still enjoying playing Pokemon with each other. You can find the 3DS XL on sale on Amazon here: Nintendo New 3DS XL Red
Mark McMorris Infinite Air for XBOX One or Playstation 4: This game is so much fun. Our whole family enjoyed trying to learn how to be a snowboarder. The controls were a bit hard to learn for us at first but now the teens are really good at it. They are so proud when they complete really cool tricks on the snowboard while Mom and Dad just usually fall off. The graphics are awesome and it feel very realistic. This game is one the whole family has enjoyed, but the teens are much better at it than the adults. It is so realistic that you will feel like you are on a mountain, in the snow. You can find it on Amazon here for XBOX One Mark McMorris Infinite Air (Xbox One) and here for Playstation 4: Infinite Air – PlayStation 4
Kenu Stance: This tripod stand for Apple smartphones is the perfect gift for those teens who enjoy using their phone all the time. This tripod can be used to watch a movie, talk on Facetime, or just to setup a great photo . The tripod is extremely compact and can even fit on a keychain. Need to take a video and you don’t want the camera to shake, this is the perfect helper. Any teen who loves their smartphone will enjoy one of these. You can find it on Amazon here: Kenu Stance | Tripod for iPhone 7 Plus, 7, 6s Plus, 6s, 6 Plus, 6, SE, 5s, 5c, 5, and iPod iTouch Gen 5 | Black
Skewb Extreme: This is a super complicated Rubik’s Cube that all the teens think they can figure out quite easily. But haha, it is much harder than it looks! You can find it on Amazon here:Recent Toys Skewb Xtreme. Two other fun, similar puzzle toys that we tried by the same company are Molecube, Mini Molecube on Keychain – Meffert’s Cubes – Brain Teaser by Recent Toys and Gear Ball, Mefferts Gearball Brainteaser Puzzle All three of these brain teasers are super fun, and great ways to keep teens busy without the use of electronics.
What gifts do you suggest for teens? Leave me some suggestions in the comments, I have a lot of teen gifts to buy.
These are great picks. I can tell you from watching my kids that you can’t go wrong with 3DS XL.
THE 3DS XL is a perfect gift for any age kids. I think that teens are hard to find gifts for, so this is a good solution!
My kids already have 3DS XLs, but I can recommend the new Pokemon games for anyone with a kid who owns the 3DS XL. My kids love those games.
The new Pokemon Sun and Moon games are so much fun! My kids have played for many hours and are no where near done playing!
Love the new cube! My son literally has all the cubes that have been invented except this one. When he was 11-12, he would sit and work on all the cubes and do them as fast as he could, he even went to competitions!
WOW! Your son would probably love to try these new cubes then. Maybe it would make a good gift for him?
I know how to shop for little kids, they are easy. These teenagers are the tough ones. I have a younger brother and a cousin that I have been stumped on for years and always get them gift cards, these are some great options. Thank you!
I think that teens are the hardest group to buy gifts for! Everything gets a roll of the eye. My teens are playing a Pokemon battle on their DS right now and laughing and having a great time.
My son will be happy to receive this nintendo 3ds xl. He loves this gaming gadget. I like those gift ideas.
Any kid or adult would love a Nintendo DS XL! My husband plays on it when the kids go to sleep!
Kids will love those gadgets. Great gift ideas for them. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you! Buying teen gifts is never easy!
These are great ideas! My daughter would love all of those. She’s also asked for Harry Potter related items. Those are still cool, I guess. 🙂
Harry Potter gifts are really great for teens who like the books and movies. Thanks for sharing another great gift idea.
How did you know I needed this guide right now. I was good with the little kids but the teenagers had me going now what and wandering around.
Awesome! I am so glad you found this helpful.
omg, I needed this list… I have a few teen boy cousins in the family that I’m always wondering what to get them! I’ll keep this list in mind the next time I’m shopping for them!
Thanks! Glad I could help you with teen ideas.
My oldest son wants a Ds3 for Christmas. I don’t know what else he wants. He didn’t give me mych to work with this year.
A DS is a great gift! Teens are really hard to find gifts for.
Pokemon has been huge this year thanks to PokemonGo! Anything that they can play a Pokemon game on is a winner.
My boys are still playing PokemonGo, they love it!
We actually got our son a Nintendo 3ds! I hope he loves it as much I think he will!
YAY! Your son will love the 3DS! It is so much fun.
We got our teen son a PS4 and a new HDTV. Bet he’ll flip once he sees his gifts. 🙂 I would love to get him that Rubik’s cube. He had the square one before and loved it. Bet he’ll love that too.
What great gifts your son is getting! The Rubik’s cube is really a lot of fun, especially for kids who mastered the original one.
I know some teen boys that would totally flip out if a Nintendo 3DS XL was under the tree on Christmas morning! LOL
The 3DS is definitely the hot toy of the year! My son really thinks it is super fun.
Always the group that’s the hardest to find a gift for. I try really hard to avoid just giving gift cards, but it’s always safe.
Gift cards are safe but boring! I hope a few of these ideas you enjoyed!
