Spiralized Vegetables

Spiralizer vegetable recipes are so much fun and really good for you. Do you own a Spiralizer yet? There are a few different kinds you can buy if you do not own one. Spiralizers are great because they can turn fresh vegetables into a healthy pasta shape in minutes. Vegetables that taste and look like noodles are a winning combination with kids and adults.

The most popular Spiralizer you can buy is this model. It is less than $30 and comes with five different blades. It is very versatile and can not only make spiral veggies, but can also cut veggies with the different blades. This model comes with a lifetime warranty!

Another great option is this model. It comes with 3 blades and is under $15!

If you want to start with the simplest choice, you should choose this handheld model with three blades for only $8.

What vegetables can you spiralize? I have had great success with all of these:

  • Zucchini
  • Sweet Potatoes/Yams
  • Beets
  • Daikon
  • Carrots
  • Asparagus
  • Parsnips
  • Broccoli Stems
  • Turnips
  • Jicama
  • Cucumbers

Don’t stop there. On the sweeter side of the menu, apples can turn into noodle just as easily, along with a full rainbow of more exotic fruits and vegetables. Once you have a spiralizer, you have instant access to endless pasta replacements. Keep on whirling you way through the produce bin with abandon! There are just a few guidelines to determine the best bets for noodling:

  • Don’t use anything with a hollow or highly seeded core
  • Pieces should be at least 2 inches in diameter and 2 inches long to create full
  • strands
  • Firmer, more solid-fleshed options will yield the best results

No matter which model you buy, vegetable noodles are minutes away. Do not be afraid of these time saving devices. You will find lots of great recipes here to try and learn ways you can add more healthy vegetables into your diet. If you have never considered a spiralizer vegetable recipes to add to your menu, now is the time to try!
