Hyatt Chesapeake

hyatt regency chesapeake bay hotel view from the infinity pool

We just got back from a quick trip to the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in picturesque Cambridge, Maryland. After just a few hours at the hotel, our family felt happy and relaxed. It feels amazing that a hotel that is so close in proximity, could make us feel like we were thousands of miles from home. Put your feet in the sand, try all the amenities (that are included in your stay at the Hyatt) and end your visit with the relaxing feeling that you traveled far away. This hotel is just as relaxing and beautiful as any Caribbean location. The Hyatt Chesapeake is a perfect spot for a romantic getaway or for some quality family time.

The rooms are modern and spacious with all the amenities included. A full room service menu is available (and is delicious). There is an award-winning golf course right next door to the hotel. Camp Hyatt is open to children if you are interested in a supervised day camp type activity. You can even dock your boat in the marina while staying at the Hyatt Chesapeake. It is a perfect spot for a business retreat or a relaxing getaway. Pet-friendly rooms are available, and your dog will love staying here as much as you will. There are over 400 rooms with many suites available. The Sago Spa and Salon offers many revitalizing and rejuvenating treatments. Each day there are plenty of activities available for kids and adults to enjoy. Some of the activities are paid (Tye-Dye, Painting bushel baskets) but the rest are free. We enjoyed many of the fun activities including the hula hoop contest, drip drip drop, and the tug of war. Every Saturday there is a free Yoga/Pilates Fusion class on the Crescent Lawn, drop in and feel great afterwards.

On the way to your table, you can pick which fish you would like for dinner. There is nothing fresher than this option! The creative menu will awaken your taste buds. If you visit Blue Point Provisions, do not miss the raw bar, freshly shucked oysters, or the amazing cocktails. If your dog is visiting the Hyatt Chesapeake with you, he is welcome to eat with you on the patio. You might even want to order him something from the vet-approved, dog-friendly menu.

Another restaurant that is on the property is called the Water’s Edge Grill. They serve a bountiful breakfast buffet on certain days, as well as regional specialties for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy your meal while looking out at the crescent pool and the gorgeous water views.

Bay Country Market is located right next to the lobby. Here you will find fresh coffee, hand-scooped ice cream, smoothies, and milkshakes, as well as fresh salads, pizzas, and paninis. You can also buy beer and wine, bags of chips and cookies, souvenirs, and locally made treats. The prices on the ice cream and milkshakes were excellent and they tasted so refreshing after a long day of activities.

Dock’s Poolside is located inside the indoor pool. Servers walk around the Infinity Pool and you can order drinks and munchies that will be delivered right to your lounge chair.  This is the ultimate in relaxation, right? The snack bar at the indoor pool, (near the exercise room and the video game room) serves many casual food items including pizza, sandwiches, salads, nachos and lots of great drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). There is a full kid’s menu available at the pool as well.

You can learn about Don’t miss the beautiful lighthouse or the lovely town of St. Michaels. It is a little over 30 minutes away from the Hyatt Chesapeake, but well worth the drive.

The top 5 reasons you should plan a visit to the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay:

1.You will fall in love with the play by the bay lifestyle of this Eastern Shore gem. The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is a perfect staycation location just a couple of hours away from the DMV.  In a very short time, you will feel relaxed as you unwind at the amenities of this luxurious hotel.

2.Almost all the activities and amenities are free! There are a couple of paid activities (like tye-dye) but all the other activities are free. My kids loved all the things to do at the resort and they looked forward to planning their day, based on the daily schedule.

3.The food is amazing. There is no fresher seafood than the food served at Blue Point Provisions. If you are not a seafood lover there are plenty of other delicious food options as well. The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is a foodie’s paradise.

4.Bring your dog on vacation with you. Many hotels do not allow you to bring your pet with you. There are lots of dogs enjoying the beach and the activities at the Hyatt. We did not bring our dog, but if we did she would have an amazing time.

5.Enjoy an East Coast getaway without the expense of airfare and extra gas expenses. The hotel is located in a very convenient spot and is easily accessible to the DC metro area, Philadelphia, and the southern cities of Virginia.
