If you have any children, you know they love to shake things. Babies love shaking rattles and children love shaking something on their food. Years ago my kids were obsessed with the popcorn toppings called Kernel Seasons by Chicago Custom Foods. They would make some air-popped popcorn and then customize their toppings and shake on lots of their favorite seasoning. The white cheddar seasoning was their favorite. It was so much fun to shake it on the popcorn and then enjoy a very healthy snack.
Shake on some seasonings
I was so excited when I found out that Chicago Custom Foods has 3 other lines of products. The truffle seasons line comes in 4 flavors and gives a great flavor to adult popcorn or eggs. The veggie seasons line is perfect for those kids who want a little extra flavor on their vegetables. There are 6 veggie seasons flavors and this might be the key to getting your kids to eat their vegetables.
Tasty Shakes oatmeal mix-ins
There is a fourth brand in the Chicago Custom Foods lineup and it is my favorite one. Breakfast is my favorite meal but my kids are never hungry in the morning. They never like any of the options I suggest. Oatmeal has always been a favorite choice in my house but the kids never liked the packets I would choose at the store.
Enter the tasty shakes oatmeal mix-ins. The tasty shakes seasonings come in 10 sweet flavors and are the perfect way to jazz up your oatmeal, muffins, or breakfast. As a huge breakfast lover, the tasty shakes seasonings are a dream come true. Once a week I make a big pot of oatmeal in our rice cooker and then each person can have fresh oatmeal along with their own tasty shake flavor topping. If you do not know how to make a big batch of oatmeal in the rice cooker I have a really easy Youtube video that shows you how here:

10 different flavors of Tasty Shakes to choose from
Have you ever bought a box of oatmeal packets and then no one in your house liked that flavor? Me too! Did you ever compare the price for a big container of steel cut oats or regular oats and see how reasonably priced they are compared to the packets? Tasty Shakes helps you avoid the problem of buying flavored oatmeal that no one likes. There are 10 delicious flavors to choose from:
- Blueberries and Cream
- Cinnamon and Spice
- Harvest Raspberry
- Maple and Brown Sugar
- Peaches and Cream
- Strawberries and Cream
- Vanilla Bean
- Apples and Cinnamon
- Bananas and Cream
- Berry, Berry, Cherry
What was our favorite flavor?
Hands down, our favorite flavor was the Blueberries and Cream. It had a lovely blueberry taste and everyone in our house enjoyed it most. Our least favorite flavor was the apples and cinnamon. It did not have enough apple or sugar and the cinnamon was very strong. One thing you should keep in mind is that these mix-in flavor shakers have a very subtle flavor. If you turn your back on one of your kids they might shake half the bottle into their oatmeal.
What else can you do with Tasty Shakes?
You can do many things with the Tasty Shake flavors. We made delicious muffins and cakes and then added the tasty shake on top of each one. You can flavor a smoothie or oatmeal bowl. Snack bars and cakes are easy to finish off with your favorite Tasty Shake flavor on top.
