Ramen for Breakfast
Ramen soup is a common lunch or dinner in my house. But ramen for breakfast? My family came up with this unique breakfast idea and now it is on a regular rotation here. The crunchiness of the fried ramen combined with the softness of the fried egg makes a lovely texture in your mouth. My kids fight over who will get the first one each time we make it.
How to make Ramen for Breakfast
This breakfast recipe is really very easy. But shhhh, let your family think it is difficult and maybe they will appreciate your cooking more. Ha ha ha, just kidding.
The base for this recipe is Fortune Ramen noodles. You can use these Yaki-Soba noodles or you can use these Fortune Yakisoba Stir Fry Noodle kits.
If you use the noodle kits, you only need to use the noodles, not the sauces or packets that come with it.
Take a round ring and push it down into the ramen noodles. Press hard and make it into a circle.
Heat your favorite oil in a deep pan. Once the oil is nice and hot, drop in the round mold with the ramen inside it. Cook it for about 3 minutes on one side then flip it over carefully to the other side. After it cooks for a few minutes, you can take off the ring carefully. Use tongs to remove the ring, it will be very hot. Let the noodles cook until they are light brown.
This noodle disk above is ready to eat. Remove it from the oil with your tongs and let rest on some paper towels to drain off any excess oil. Fry up an egg and place it gently on top of your ramen. The crunchy ramen noodles are such a delicious snack. My kids fight over the extra crispy pieces.
This recipe is a part of a CookLikeAWokStar blogger challenge. Thank you to JSL Foods for including me in the recipe challenge.
The combination of the crunchy ramen noodles and the silky egg is amazing! Such a delicious breakfast.
