“Everyone has a phone, Mom.” How many times have you heard this from your kids? My daughter has been asking for a cell phone since she was about two years old. With four older brothers, she always wanted everything they had, especially their phones. As a parent, most of us are hesitant to buy our children a phone for many reasons. The biggest reason for me was not getting locked into a 2 year contract. Thankfully, with the Walmart Family Mobile $49.88 PLUS plan, powered by T-Mobile, there is no contract at all. This really is the perfect solution for many families.
This summer felt like the right time to finally get my daughter her own phone. My mini blogger is getting older and has demonstrated over and over that she is very responsible. It felt like the perfect time to finally get the one item she had been dreaming of for so long.
We were shopping together at Walmart last week and when we walked by the electronics department she said, “Hey, Mom, when can you get me my own phone?” I glanced at the phones on display, and saw that there were several options for under $100, with NO contract. This reasonably priced option gives you unlimited talk, text and data and up to 15 GB of 4G LTE† data, then 2G*. This is a huge amount of data for her phone and we have not even come close to using it all up.
I gently took her hand and said, “Pick a phone.” She was confused at first and asked, “Who are we choosing a phone for?” She started to cry when I told her it was for her. She said she never thought her dream of having her own phone would come true. So many of the phones were under $100, giving great value to parents who do not want to spend a small fortune on something their children could possibly drop or break.
It was so easy and convenient to purchase a Walmart Family Mobile PLUS phone and service. We spoke to a Walmart associate about the various phone options. We liked the Samsung J3 and LG L59 Grace best. Within a few minutes, we picked and bought the mini blogger’s new phone, the LG Grace L59, and one month of service for under $150. The new phone was named Grace and these two are now inseparable. Above you can see her favorite game, Pet Hotel. My daughter dreams of being a vet when she grows up, and in this game you are running a dog hotel, with various dogs to take care of all day. She has loved feeling connected to her friends this summer, with the excellent coverage on T-Mobile’s nationwide 4GLTE† network.
My daughter is as free as a bird this summer, with no scheduled activities. Since the LG Grace is a smart phone, she has been texting with her classmates and keeping up to date on everyone’s summer adventures. Each phone on the $49.88 PLUS plan comes with one free VUDU◊ movie rental credit(with a value of $7) for every month you keep your service. She is planning a movie night with all her friends to watch the latest family friendly movie.
