Healthy desserts are common around here. After eating a nutritious dinner it is great to be able to offer the family a healthy dessert. Chocolate pudding or chocolate mousse is a family favorite. One way to make a healthy chocolate mousse is by using aquafaba, (the liquid in a can of chickpeas) in place of egg whites. I shared a really easy recipe for Aquafaba chocolate mousse here. Eating healthy fats is important in our diet so we try to eat avocados as often as possible. We love to make chips and guacamole, but avocados can also be turned into a delicious dessert.
Avocados are healthy for many reasons:
- Avocados are loaded with potassium and fiber.
- Avocados have no sugar or sodium.
- Avocados make a great swap to make a recipe healthier and vegan.
- Avocados have 20 vitamins, nutrients and minerals in every serving.
- Avocados have 3.5 grams of good fat per 1 oz. serving.
I have two tips for eating avocados. First, if your avocado is very hard and not ripe, put it in a paper bag with a banana and in 2 days you will have a ripe avocado! The second tip is that you should not refrigerate an avocado until it is ripe.
I hope you enjoy this delicious and nutritious recipe.

I LOVE avocados. I’ve eaten avocados two days in a row. I like simple guacamole and sliced avocados on salads. I also love avocado ice cream. I imagine your avocado chocolate mousse is amazing. I’m looking forward to trying it.
I love avocado ice cream too! I did not think it would be as delicious as it is!
I have never heard of avocado chocolate mousse. I am very interested in what this taste like. Love avocado and chocolate so this must work.
You might not think that it would taste good, but it is really delicious!
I’ll admit, I’m a two part weirdo here. I’ve never tried avocado. My daughter keeps trying to get me to try it, but I won’t lol. And 2nd, as much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate? I cannot stand chocolate cake, ice cream or mousse! See? A two part weirdo lol. But thank you for sharing!!!
Hahaha! I do not know many people who do not like chocolate cake, mousse or ice cream! You really must taste an avocado one day. It is so creamy and delicious.
I love the combo of avocado and chocolate. I once made an avocado chocolate shake and it was so delicious. I can’t wait to try your recipe.

That does sound good. I would have never thought of it. I would like to try this recipe. It sounds really good.
Thanks so much! We really love this recipe.
Yum yum yum! I love avocado and this avocado chocolate mouse sounds like a perfect indulgence. Here in Indonesia people would make avocado smoothies using avocado, sweet condensed milk and drizzle in chocolate syrup.
Wow that smoothie sounds amazing! I bet it is rich and totally satisfying. Thank you for sharing this recipe with me.
My kids are such big avocado fans, so I’m sure we’d all like this! Just a few days ago, my daughter was grumping about the fact that we didn’t have any avocados in the house, and she wanted to eat one!
Haha! That is so cute. Your daughter is very smart! Time to stock up on avocados.
wow. Eye opening…like you can DO THAT? I’m going to try this. we had such a disappointing avocado tonight. The seed took up almost the whole fleshy area. It was terrible and hard, so strange. I’m trying this…with a not terrible avocado, lol
I have once had a bad avocado like you describe! It is rare, and so frustrating! You do not want to pay a lot of money for a seed! I hope you try this recipe out soon.

Thanks for watching our video! My kids all love to cook and make videos of their creations. You really need to try this recipe!
I love love avocados but they can be tricky. I always ask my Mom to get them for me. I’m excited to try this at home. I’m sure it’s going to be a huge hit.
Did you watch our tip in the video? Take off the stem and if it is yellow underneath it is ripe!
I’m going to have to try this! I’ve made truffles with avocado and they were really good too 🙂
Yum, truffles with avocado sounds delicious!
I never thought of using avocado in a sweet recipe. Seems like it would be sweet, even with this fruit in it. It is a fruit right because it has a seed in it? But paired with bananas. Sounds interesting.
Yup, it is a fruit! Avocados are delicious in desserts.
I have never actually had avocado chocolate mousse before but I do love avocado and have it as a spread on my sandwiches.
Avocado toast is an excellent breakfast. We love to have that too.
I love cooking with avocado! It’s versatile and it goes well with a lot of ingredients! I think this is pretty awesome. I’d love to try this recipe one of these days!
Avocados are extremely versatile. It is incredible how many ways you can use them in sweet, savory and salty recipes!

Guacamole is a great way to eat avocados! It is delicious on tacos or with chips.
This seems like an interesting recipe. Unfortunatey, my mom passed down her avocado allergy to me.
Oh no! You will not be able to taste this delicious recipe. Luckily you have lots of other fruits to choose from that you can hopefully enjoy.
